Oakwood Techniques is a performing arts after school program that lays a foundation for lifelong love of the arts, as well as builds participants understanding of ways to use performing arts as a form of self expression.
It's time to sign up for our Oakwood Techniques 2025 Spring Session! This year, the program has expanded and is open to all 3-8th grade students in the city of Troy. Link to sign up below.
Registration deadline is January 10, 2025.
Parent orientation is January 30 from 6-7PM.

Oakwood Techniques has a fall and spring session. The Fall Session begins on Tuesday October 8th and ends Thursday December 19th.

All Sessions are open to all students in the 3rd-8th grades.

This project was created in 2020 during the pandemic. It was born out of a collaboration with Ex. Director, Shanna Goldman, staff at School 2 and then board member Justin Relf who has a passion for seeing youth in under invested neighborhoods become performing artists by fostering natural interest and talent with quality performing arts training.

All Sessions will host up to 25 youth.

We have five adult staff that work in our program. Also, for the past two years we have been a work site for the Rensselaer County SummerYouth and Youth Employment Program hosting two-four high school student employees in our program.

Yes! During the school year, students receive a snack when they arrive and work on homework and then eat a meal cooked in our kitchen together at the end of the program.
