Interested in renting a space at Oakwood for an extended period of time?

Oakwood Community Center provides residencies to groups and organizations that align with our mission.

Residencies provide regularly scheduled access to Oakwood’’s lower parlor, kitchen, meeting rooms or sanctuary. Residencies may also include organizational support such as fundraising, strategic planning and opportunities to collaborate with other organizations currently in residency at Oakwood.

  • Rates vary by need and use.

  • Let us know you live in the neighborhood when you reach out and we can provide you with a discounted rate.

  • A schedule of use will be determined based on need and availability.

  • Organizations seeking to reside at the Oakwood Community Center must complete the OCC Residency Application. Submit this FORM to Oakwood Community Center: oakwoodcommunitycenter.org) or drop off a hard copy at Oakwood.

    Please keep in mind we are a small volunteer-run organization with limited staffing. We will get back to you as soon as we can. In the fall and winter months, we tend to book up quickly, so please try to call in advance.

  • Residencies are reviewed annually.

  • A rental agreement must be signed at least one week in advance of the start of your residency and is renewed annually.

  • Shades of Cocoa

    Shades of Cocoa is an organization that helps young girls with leadership skills, empowerment, enrichment as well as self care. We are a sisterhood that is linked by friendship, self care, self love, uplifting each other while having love for leadership.

    Shades of Cocoa’s most important goal is to promote self love in girls of color.

  • Swordpaw Music

    Less a traditional recording studio and more a creative production lab, Swordpaw is a space for music-making, collaboration, and recording.

    Currently Swordpaw is home to the following bands: Bear Grass, In Mtns, Great Mutations, Haley Moley, Doc Horton and the J Street Band, Steve Hammond and his Rabid Children, Ice Queen, Pony in the Pancake, Front Biz
